Good to have a crowded family.
It has become a tradition to get together to help one another in the family whoever will have a visitors and want to taste local dishes such as içli köfte, mantı,ekşili köfte that requiers difficult and tiring process. This time it was my turn to invite my in- laws to help me.We had tea and cake after the job done which was a good treat,of course.Chatting about everything was a nice therapy for all.So that I did not fuss what to cook for my latest visitors as dishes were ready in the freezer and I had time to play with little sweety Elif and stroll about the city with my daughter freely and paid visits to the elderlies in my crowded family. That was a nice break in my daily routine .
Thanks to them all very much.
Thanks to them all very much.
Two Elifs in the Family
We have a new member in the family who was born in Thesallonika three months ago.Her parents named her Elif Evridiki. She is my youngest granddaugther who visited us last week.Eldest Elif,my mother-in -law is 94 years old. This picture values pretty much in the history of the family.Little Elif belongs to the third generation .I never thought of I'd have a granddaughter who would have the same name with my mother-in -law when I got married.I hope, little Elif also leads a a long, healthy life too.Life is full of surprises!

Funny looking owl of Elif
I have told you before I loved handcrafts.I crocheted this owl for Elif while watching it snowed in Litochoro. It should have been fillied in with stuff like silicon.I will do it when I come again here,to this lovely small village.
I hope to be back home next this time next week!I have come to the end of my mission as a grannie.SEE YOU IN ADANA..
Elif ,Evridiki arrived on the 20th January.
That was a looong wait for me that I had to wait for her almost three more week more than she was due to come. Thank goodness, she is a healthy baby although her mum had difficulties in her pregnancy. She is wearing her cousin Eylül clothes in this picture.Elif is my third granddaughter.I wonder if I will be able to teach her how to crochet, knit and sew when she is old enough?I did my first crochet bunting for her hoping that she loves handcarft like her grannie.
WELCOME ELİF.YOU WILL BE CARESSED AND LOVED VERY MUCH ..!

BUNTING ADVENTURE
I enjoy creative hand-crafts and I wanted to crochet something while I was waiting for little Elif.I will hang this colorful bunting on her room door when It has been completed.I wonder when she will decide to arrive ?It was nice sitting by the fire on a cosy coach and producing something while it was stormy and chilly outside.

Winter in Litochoro &Baby Elif
It is my third visit to Litochoro and I am waiting for my third granddaughter.I am impatient to cuddle her buuuuuut:
I have been in here for almost fifteen days and it seems I will have to stay longer just because of my lazy granddaughter Elif Evridiki who is a bit late to come to this world.Litochoro is a touristic lovely village around Thesallonika and very close to Aegean Sea .I can see both Mount Olympus in the north and the Agean sea in the south when I am at the balkony. The other day ,I caught the moon above the mountain glimpsing at me at 8 am.Can you see it?
I went up for a walk for a while and I was impressed by seeing this monument, naked tree.I was also impressed as much as I saw it last summer all dressed up with green leaves.I just can't help myself feeling respect for the age and the stunning view of this tree, standing there alone as it was waiting helplessly for the spring to come. AND I DO HOPE ,MY LITTLE SWEETY COMES BEFORE SPRING:):)
